Are there any differences I need to know about when considering between these 2 used bikes with similar options and mileage?

Thanks guys!!

In 2008, Fuel tank to 6 gallons (Great when taking trips). This changed the seat and tank mounts. It moved coil under the seat/battery. Harley changed the brakes to Brembo (Better and ABS is an opinion on all Touring Models) and Throttle by Wire. This removed the Throttle cables. All apply to the 2009 model year.

Harley changed the frame in 2009 and began using the 180/65B16 rear tire (wider) and began using a 17" front tire. With the 2009 frame change the engine mounts changed making the motor sub-assembly "Shake" movement different (better in my opinion). The swing arm was made 1" longer to make room for the rear exhaust to go under there the frame, instead of under the seat. Much better for heat control and the passenger's feet not to get heel marks on the pipes.

+1 on the above ... the frame made a huge difference in overall stability and handling.

I had a 2008 RG and I ride my buddies 2009 alot. The ride is more plush on the 08 but the handling is much better on the 09. The 09 just rides rougher but you dont get a feeling of the rear being loose on turns. The 08 was great but the 09 is just better, but the frame is wider and longer on the 09. Ride both of them for yourself and decide. HMT
