Default helmet headset

I just bought an 11 Ultra Limited and would like to mount the included headset to take advantage of the CB radio function. The headset is part #77147-98A "Premium Audio Helmet Headset".

I have a Nolan 3/4 helmet, but the headset won't mount on it because the edges are too thick. I'm looking for suggestions for a 3/4 helmet w/faceshield that is compatible with the headset. Any ideas?

If you like your helmet, you may want to spend the money on a J&M headset that would fit the helmet instead of buying a helmet to fit the headset (and/or sell the HD headset on EBAY). It would be a washout for what a decent helmet may cost. I've had good experiences with these people http://www.sierra-mc.com/categories.asp?cat=134
They may can help with the fitment. Good luck

Hey cactus, I mounted my included headset onto the straps on a half helmet. This helmet has the zip-out ear covers which have pockets for the speakers. It works fine, although the speakers aren't really very good for music... rather tinny sound.

I'd like to rig up a 3/4 comm helmet. Haven't decided if I want to invest in a good headset, a helmet designed for one (like Nolan), or just take my current headset into a shop like the Helmet Center (on the west side) and find a helmet that fits nicely and accepts the headset.

I don't mind buying another helmet. I lost a Scorpion EXO-200 when I totaled my previous bike. I have several helmets - mostly half helmets, but the headset won't work on any of them. I am trying to get away from half helmets since my crash. If I had been wearing a half, I would have left some of my face on Queen Creek Rd.

Maybe I'll take the headset and visit Helmet Harbor (in Gilbert) and see what will work.
