Default Dropped off 09 for recall work.

So I dropped of my 09 flhtp today for the recall work, I was told initally that the gas tank bushing, tripple tree and front tire would be replaced.( this was last year when I bought bike) now I finally dropped off toget done before thos ridong season, and I was told the tire is more of a factory volenteer recall, and since I havent exp any wobble or cupping I wont get a new front tire.... does anyone have any info on the tire recall... I am going on a 4000 mile ride soon and dont wanna need a new tire 2000 miles from home

Saying No Wobble was a mistake but sure you woulndnt have known that. Ride it a 1000 more miles and go back and tell them the bike now wobbles like wild. Or...go to another dealer now and make the complaint. Tank recall is pretty simple....just a spacer on either side of the front mounting tabs. Havent heard of a triple tree problem.

If they told you "triple tree" you must have a Police Bike. This was not a recall it was a "program". All it did was give the police an option to decrease the turning radius of the bike by relocating the fork stops on a new upper clamp for police bikes only. This was done OE across the board for all touring models in 2010.

It is not a biggy unless you want to do tight circles less than 18' in diameter.

I was in Phoenix last week on vacation and decided to get my rear tire replace at Arrowhead Harley. Mainly because I can get a tire for half the cost I would get it here. Anyway when I go to pick up my bike they said they replaced my front tire free of charge due the recall no questions asked. So the long and short of it was two tires for half the price of one tire in Canada.
