Default got my first self inflicted scratch!!

I put a hidden antenna in my fairing today and scratched the outer fairing while putting the center windshield bolt back in. Torx bit slipped and well you know the rest of the story. Black bike and the scratch appears like a white line. Any suggestions for a cover up fix?

I hate that when it happens, if you are lucky the scratch is only in the clear coat. Try H-D
Swirl & Scratch remover if it is not to deep, or light rubbing compound if it is in deeper.

Rub your fingernail across the scratch, if it catches then it is probably too deep to fix. If not use rubbing compound followed by polishing compound followed by wax. You can do all that by hand with a good microfiber cloth.

I used a little Meguiars scratch remover and it eliminated the appearance by about 1/2. I think i may just have to suck it up and figure I got that out of the way!

If its not too deep wet sand it with 2000 grit then a little rubbing compound followed by wax.. I had a deep scratch in one of my bags ? Dont know how it got there but h/d uses a lot of clear coat and i sanded it right out..

I did a similar thing and ended up with a scratch on my fairing. I went to Walmart and bought a can of "High Gloss Black" spray paint and a small touch-up paint brush. I then sprayed a puddle of paint in the can lid and using the touch-up paint brush I put a thin coat of paint over the scratch. Voila! Even in the sunlight you can't see where the scratch was.
