cvo harley is a great forum, but careful how much you want to read into the issues some have with the 110- like a lot of things on the internet, we only read about problems and not about the thousands of people that are happy with their CVO, so it tends to amplify the perception that it's a bad engine.
I bought my 09 SERG used with 6,000 miles, and put on another 7,000, and mine runs great with no issues. Top end is a little noisy, but apparently that's normal.
Obviously the 110" came with my bike, but if I had a choice or were doing a build, I'd stick with the 103", because it can easily be built up enough to make the same or more power than the 110", which is little underpowered for it's size, but also has potential to make real good numbers.

I have a 08 FLHTC with a 110 Screaming Eagle engine, i buy the bike new and the dealer make the mod, i want this motor because i do a lot of travel and want the warranty.... i rode 90,000 km to date and have 0 issues with it. I know many peoples go other route with smaller engine and have good success

I have an 07 SE 110. Big Radius / Fuelpak. I love this bike and this motor. I have 45000 km without problems. I did replace the head gaskets under a recall about a year or so ago but not because I had any issues.
My husband just picked up his 2011 CVO RGU. He has since passed break in and says this bike is the best he's ever had. He's had many new Harley's since 1978. He just came off a 2006 Ultra with a Zippers 120". He says he likes this one way better.
Just another opinion.

I have 3000 miles on mine. TTS mastertune, Fulsac B header, and a pair of Vance & Hines High Output slip-ons. It is the smoothest setup I've ever had. No need for cams. There is no substitute for cubic inches.
