Default Is it mandatory to bleed?

Will I have to bleed the brake system after replacing the rear brake switch?

Yes, I have done the search on the forum. Some say yes and some say no, some say you can do it with a siringe if you need to. I want a most likely scenario.

I have unplugged the rear switch for now so I can ride and use the front switch.

What say you?

If you opened up the hydraulic system to air = my personal rule is Yes.
You have air in the system like it or not.
Air compresses. Causes spongy brakes and many other issues including possible metal erosion.
But hey - it's your life/Harley
Nobody gets out alive anyway...

yes ABS, I read the manual, but thought I had seen some that didn't. I guess it's going to be a crap shoot on whther or not I get air in there. Hate to pay an hrs fees for less than 30 min of work. not to mention the waiting to get the bike in the back.

Well technically you are supposed to change out the brake fluid every two years. Seeing you have an 08, if it hasn't been changed yet, change the switch then the fluid and let dealer check it with the Digital Technician.
