Thanks for the ideas. I have some plasti-dip in the shop. Probably strip it down and clean the back rest up. Then start plasti-dippin when it warms up a bit.
Anyone know where I can get the speaker pods?

Now that I have it out in sun I'm thinking I might just clean it up as it is. It's 2 tone but the lighter color is the same as scoot.
Here's another reason why I don't want to re coat it

Anyways, I won't big this thread down with my project. Thanks for the input

I get that. Did you check to see if PO had the other speaker pod laying around somewhere? tp

They don't have it. I am stripping it down to just the bare trunk so I can clean it up then I will take it to a friend who is pretty positive he can clear it.
I found some brackets that I think will allow me to mount it properly. I found a few different options on EBay.
I found the latches online also.
Any ideas is greatly appreciated.

67 degrees in East Tennessee today. Left work at noon today, dusted off the 2011 Road King and charged the battery for 150 miles, topped off the the tank with some pure gas and back in the garage. 32 degrees for a high here next Wednesday.

Found that out the hard way on some aluminum wheels...Dipping isn't as nice as paint but is a very cheap alternative... Home Depot even sells the stuff for $6 a can.
