Went out yesterday to a Blue Knights anniversary party in a little rain.

I'm 64 and getting closer to retirement. I've owned this Standard since it was new and it has become painfully obvious that the MOCO has placed themselves out of the price range for their base enthusiasts. So, I just replace the rear drive belt, the large and small seals on the output shaft. I also installed the baker hi torque bearing and seal on the inner primary. I'll keep ding all the routine and preventative maintenance as long as I can. Since my ride to work is 30 highway miles one way and I don't bang on it, I'm
not experiencing the 6th speed woes I hear so much about.

Washed it after a 2K mile trip to Colorado and back plus installed a pair of CVO mufflers, the RCX are too loud for touring or I'm getting too old.

2012 Street Glide: Over the weekend and today after work, replaced stock front wheel with a Wana Ryd 21 in. ION Starkline Wheel, installed the progressive drop-in lowering kit ("drop in" is misleading for baggers) and changed fork oil, installed Ohlins #2 adjustable courtesy of motorcycle metal (thanks Howard).

Also figured out where I noticed smoke coming from the bike last week. It was coming from the brake switch by the header pipe. Also the rear brake works but the brake light does not come on when I hit the rear brake. I am now reading that there was a recall. I typed in my VIN into the HD website and it said there are no open recalls on my VIN, however I am going to call the dealership because from what I am reading, my year is affected and I believe I am experiencing the exact same issues.

Dremel'd a hole in my arlen ness rear fender extension to allow an antenna. I've been running without an antenna since I installed it and i just like listening to the radio from time to time.

Added vented lowers from Amazon. Very impressed with fit and finish for less than $80. Both were fully assembled and only hardware I needed were lower clamps which i had from unused highway pegs.
Took off fork fangs, which did a fine job controlling wind and hopefully can just run with lowers year round.

Looks good! Just ordered a set yesterday, running fangs now. Fangs removed most of the buffetting issues and not sure I will remove them. From what I read, lowers do not help to remove buffetting. Thinking about installing the lowers with the vent door removed, it opens up the vent a lot more. Then install vent door in winter.
