I agree about the over zealous government workers over salting the roads. Fortunately I don't have too many of those people around where I ride - BUT - the intersections, that's another story. I think they think that intersections are for dumping their load before going back to the barn.

I think you'll like what S100 will do. I spray it on "all" metal parts (except the rotors of course) and especially all the fittings. You can buff it if you like the clean look. I don't really care - I just spray it on and leave it (less work). Don't really care what the bike looks like during the winter.

My guess is its a newer red that could be matched to a recent HD lineup for the touring bikes (2012 - 2016).
