Thought I'd post of photo of my RK Classic with new hard bags and hardware. The bags are the 5 inch stretched bags listed on ebay, Hardware kit was from ebay also. Have about $485.00 into bags and hardware. Quality is better then I expected.

You perisher! Have fond memories of that coast road having visited Larne many times for work back in the '70s.

Spent 4 hours washing, waxing, detailing and polishing the chrome. It sure looks good. If it ever stops raining I may even get a chance to ride it.

terryrh it turned out great. Wasn't able to go for a long ride only because freaken washing machine broke down and had to replace it. I did take it to the store and bought a six pack and it worked just like it was suppose to, turned a few heads also.

Those look real sharp, although I was partial to the classic bags for some reason...

You going to be changing those bars? I know someone who might be interested in them.

  • Raised the highway pegs (mini-floorboards) up an inch
They were a little low for comfort in the turns. With the bike level, I used a flat board planted on the floor at the center-line of the bike, and raised the other end until it hit the floorboards. Used that angle to set the height of the highway pegs. If the pegs hit pavement, the floorboards will first.
  • Lowered the toe shifter
The factory had the heel-shifter bolt so tight that I stripped the head (yes, it was firmly in). I had to clamp onto the bolt with vice grips and still had to use a pipe as a lever to get it to budge. I thought maybe they had used red loctite, but the threads were clean.
