Blackout Project
Tore down my bike over the last two weeks and sent off 63 parts to the powdercoater. Going with a satin black. I've never been addicted to chrome like so many of my fellow Harley riders. I figure I've got at least 20 hours of assembly once I get the parts back.

What I did to my bagger today
Wednesday, I left San Diego and rode to San Francisco. Stayed there for two days took some good pictures. (Another of my hobbies beside motorcycling) I am in LA now visiting my daughters. I have ridden 1000 miles in the last two and a half days. It was a good time. My bike performed perfectly not on single problem!

Installed FL-VIED-10 today, very easy installation. Raining which means no test run. Set them at 50% but a little confused how I will know if I need to go up or down on the setting.

I bought 2 sets of tires
For about the price of one set bought and mounted I got 2 delivered to my door. I went with Michelin Commander 2's. I plan to ride more this year.

Dumb *** attack
Last week I was out for a ride and noticed my rear brakes weren't working as good as they should so when I got it stopped, I looked down toward the caliper and the right side was covered with oil. Cut the ride short and got home and the dipstick was gone! So I ran out to my dealer and picked up a new one. Problem solved (NOPE)! Had to get new brake pads and got them changed.
Went on a charity run yesterday and the same thing happened. Got to reading my manual and discovered when I topped of the oil, I had over-filled it. Filled it when it was cold to the top mark! So I learned (relearned) not to do that again. I knew it, but had a dumb-*** attack, got in a hurry and over filled! Had to reorder a new dipstick so won't be riding til that gets here. Lesson learned!

Put a Hells Foundry TourPak Rack in my Garage, to have a place for my TourPak when its not on the bike.
The rack is designed for 16" spaced studs and of course my garage has 24" spaced studs. So I lag bolted a 10 foot long 2x6 across 5 studs. I then used the 2x6 to mount various shovels and other yard tools.
I mounted the TourPak Rack in between two studs on the 2x6. Hells Foundry states that the rack is designed to hold 50 pounds. I was concerned about the weight of the TourPak so I added some reinforcements to help hold the weight of the TourPak.
