I did forget to mention that the radio comes with a hide-away antenna and a clear lexan face cover that slides over the front in case of rain. I opted for the external antenna. I like the look of the antenna on the back of the bike. I also have a clear "shower cap" that I bought for a buck that fits right over the top of the radio in case I get into a big rain. It's just a back up. Like putting on a rain suit.... You can see the set up on his site at southernmotorcycleradio.com. And, before anyone asks, no I am not connected with Tommy Jones in any way relation or business so I have no dog in the fight so to speak. He has a great product, and I am so happy with mine that I don't mind sharing his name or site.

Very nicely done. Gives me some ideas when I'm ready to invest in a stereo system.

Thanks. I put a lot of thought into what I wanted. Hardest part was finding the right guy to make the housing. I stumbled on Tommy by accident some how. Made many searches for the radio on web but only came up with two that mounted on windshield and I did not want that. He is very easy to work with as well. I had a particular radio I wanted in that box and he said just send it to me and I will mount that one for you. I ordered the Kenwood and had it shipped to his address and he let me know as soon as it got there. Communication was great.
I am happy...............

I do not live anywhere near Tommy or Southern Motorcycle Radio. I did everything by phone and emails!

At my Indy to change stator and rotor, one week before holiday. The nut was unscrewed by hand...

Added HD Burst headlight trim ring. Looks good with my windshield trim and over all theme.

Today I installed new thread inserts for the windshield bolts. I knew it would happen someday so I had bought thread inserts awhile ago. I had one strip out about a week ago when I was putting on the Iron Aces mount for my Power Vision. So today was repairs.

With the windshield removed, you can see the problem...

New -vs- Old Thread Insert

New one installed...

Inspected the other two inserts and one more was on it's way out so I replaced it as well.

and of course my custom made install tool
