What did you do to your bagger today?

While it was a lovely day, had too many projects (cutting down trees, hauling pine straw, etc.) to go for a ride. But, I did get to give her a bath. After all the work...still can't decide if I like the white walls or not. They do look great when clean and they match the RKC so well. I got a lift from Harbor Freight that sure made things much easier. Maybe a ride tomorrow...after I install an amp in my niece's car.

I have not cleaned my 10 Ultra in over a year. So I finally detailed every square inch of it. It came out nice.
I had to put new tires on so before I re installed them, I did the frame, under the fenders, the under carriage, the black crinkle paint on the cases, all the chrome and paint. Topped it off with the better tour pack hinges. The wheels were easiest to clean when they were off the bike.
Wow! It had not looked that good since it was new in Aug of 09.
The tires had 22K on them. The rear was not quite to the wear bars yet. The front was but was worse because of the cupping. I'm going on a two week trip this season and I would not want to try it on those tires.
Probably won't clean it again until the next set of tires.

Forecast was 60 and sunny, but instead its only 50, foggy and wet. Blah.
So instead I removed my saddlebags and seat and conditioned/polished them with Obenauf's Heavy Duty Leather Preservative. Really awesome stuff. Here are two shots that show one bag finished (darker) and the other one waiting to be done (lighter).
The seat is a bit older and more beaten up than the bags, but it likewise turned out very nicely.

Christmas gift install day .. put on the tour-pak lock cover; swapped out the gas tank mounting bolts for chrome ones; put on the front axle covers; and for my wife, installed the "short people" passenger floor board mounts. Some other odds and ends to do yet this winter, but that today Too cold and too much crap on the roads to ride
