They are just as fun to remove on the M8, possibly a bit worse. I put my Trask vented cover on, and used the same tools I used on my 110, and I think I was getting less than that 1/8 turn
I am curious, was your vent tube damaged, needing replacement?
Yes the old tube was cracked so water could enter.
I figured out a solution for wire management inside the bags!
These are called “solar panel clips”.
Just had to bend them a little to fit over the top edge of the liners, and then spread out the other side a little bit to hold the wire loom.
Had to remove fender to replace rear brake wire harness. Wore through right where it goes through fender sheet metal. What a royal PIA!
Swearing and YouTube were the common today. And now to wash places that have NEVER been touched by me. The bike still has mud in spots from Glacier Nat'l Park in June.
I'll easily have 5-hours into this, in old man cautious, work mode. The harness was only $35 at the HD dealer. $69 on eBay for a used one. The dealer had one in stock.
Now if the Mega Millions will bless me with a win, I can hire this crap out.
Ran over a very expensive, softball sized rock while the wife and I were out tooling around last Friday. Ordered a replacement rim but is back ordered until January and then decided to bite the bullet and pay over twice as much for a stock take off from The Bay. Just glad the rock didn't kick up and put a hole in the case.

That looks like it might be repairable, have you looked into it?
When I was first setting up my bike I wanted a 19 inch Enforcer wheel, but all of the used ones that I could find were bent like this.
That was enough for me to decide to stick w/ the 16" setup that still has plenty of sidewall.

That's wild! I'm glad you're okay. With your wife too, that's incredible. How much was the Flea Bay rim gonna set you back, if you don't mind my asking?

It was losing air but didn't notice it until an hour later during our ride when the steering felt sluggish. Had to get some fix a flat in there and hope it would seal up, which thankfully it did and was able to make the 2 hour ride back home. I've thought about getting it fixed but there are several opinions when safety is the main concern.
