Starter hasn't been turning the engine over as quickly as in the past, and the battery is only (3) years old. Bike has 206,000 miles. Installed the starter solenoid repair kit (HD #31604-06). We'll see if that fixes the problem. I replaced the starter clutch (HD #31633-07A) two years ago.

I did an oil change (oil didn't even have 4k on it yet but it was blacker than Hillary Clinton's heart so I changed it). I usually get about 5K out of oil the oil condition may be due to 30 minutes to an hour of sitting in construction traffic every ride home from work about the last month. It was taking 30 to 45 minutes to go two miles over the pearl river bridge in Mississippi/Louisiana the temps have been in the high 90s. but at least we have a wet heat around here so no dust storms or mega-fires.

While I was checking things out I decided it was time to order tires. The front tire is getting square and the rear looks ok for now but I know by experience it will have cords showing before the end of August. One of the benefits of riding everyday is the tires don't age-out.

Mike

The Apex boards look good. I'm anxious to hear how you like them. The Flo I have are awesome. The grip is great, keeps my feet planted. I'm wondering in the Apex will do the same.
yeah once the power comes on it comes strong. i have a 2 in to 1 pipe and my tuner from previous bike just hanging out waiting until the 1 year mark. by then i'll be a little more willing to forego warranty

the apex were a strong contender but the aggressiveness of the spikes turned me off a bit as sometimes as is I already catch my feet coming off the stock boards so figure those little spikes might wind up costing me some pride points at some point in time

mine was just the bushings by themselves, no bolts included. i need to get some longer though. i'd guess maybe 1/4" longer?

mine are the apex so much smaller. i'm a little on the fence with the small size but if i dont like them i can always sell and get different

Installed the CD lower fairing grille lights. I really like these, they look awesome and should add more visibility to front of the bike.

I played with front speaker fitment (they finally arrived) & got foot pegs almost mounted.
I would have accomplished more if I was good at cleaning up as I go, but the pile of tools from the past few weeks was rapidly outgrowing the work table.
Not to mention that I had reached the point where going to the toolbox for the backup tools wasn’t even possible any more.

Mounted up a new front tire. Tire was getting kind of thin and I'm leaving for Sturgis on the 1st. Also installed the chrome wheel spacer kit while it was apart.

Did a 3 hole fluid and filter change. Then got my PV4 and new map from fuel moto flashed today. The bike feels good to me, i took it up and down my street. Didn't get a real opportunity to get it onto the open road afterwards due to daddy obligations and running my kid around to doc appts. LOL.

I picked up my new clutch/brake levers & rebuilt the MC.
Levers are factory HD "Edge Cut" that apparently were only ever available in black (which I just couldn't bring myself to use).
I had them plated by a local shop to match the mirror arms, shift levers, etc.

I also finalized the front speaker mockup, then added power & ground distribution blocks to eliminate the stacked accessory connections on the battery terminals.
Then rewired the ACC connector harness to provide a trigger for the new cameras.

It has been slow, but doing it right (and at my speed) has been the objective.
