Default Not That I Inteded To Do This

**** happens. Back on May 17th I took a road trip up to Grayson Kentucky and just ran up to Huntington West Virginia
Left Grayson on Friday May 19th. I was meet a friend I had not seen in like forever in Lexington Kentucky
As luck would have it I was cruising down the I-64 toward Lexington at about 73 mph according to Google Maps or 71 mph
as to what the speedo was saying
I hear a loud WHOOOP behind me at the rear of my bike. I look back behind me and see my left saddlebag bouncing along the I-64.
AAAWWW ****, and of course you pull to the shoulder and you're what feels like a mile away.
Got off the bike to see what went wrong, rider error or bike malfunction.
So I know I have to get my **** off the interstate and I start walking to where the bag is in the middle of the interstate.
So walking up the shoulder working on avoiding getting run over by cars and semis I get to where the bag is
I get my ****, parts, busted up bag, rags, bungees, and my clothes bag, off the interstate. No need to carry a busted up saddlebag home
so I leave that along side the shoulder. Didn't bother getting getting the speaker out of the saddlebag, the other bag still on the bike was
full and couldn't pack anymore in it.
Well wasn't rider error definitely bike malfunction. On the 2009 Electra Glide Ultra Classic the front bracket that bolts to the fender strut (which I saved out of the middle of the interstate) it seems the bolt sheered off at the bolt head. Glad these were cheap aftermarket bags. Means I'm only out about 350 bucks. But it didn't hit me until I got home that the locks were from my Harley bags and matched my key
OUCH that hurt, 77 bucks for new matching key locks. Oh well it is what it is.
So heading back home to Tennessee I only looked cool on one side LOL

These pictures were taken at Rose & Jim's Bar & Grill in Lexington Kentucky where I was meeting up with a friend who moved to Kentucky
from California. Pretty cool little place.

fixed some of Harley's tacky cost cutting measures, replaced those rubber docking inserts, a buddy of mine had these laying around and passed them onto me.

this is tacky, Harley!

did you save that much not including these?

The older style plastic docking inserts were held in place with two screws that fit into threaded holes on each side of the frame. These are the holes that are used with the docking hardware. With the rubber inserts that are currently being used the threaded holes are left open and they rust.

Does not make sense to cut the cost of something that is an accessory. If costs went up, pass them on....

Finally got the Redline Engineering bike dolly delivered and lifted the 04RKC on it. Working great, rolls around pretty easy and seems very stout.
