I just use an adjustable Ford wrench.

My Crescent was still too small and I'm a stickler for torque specs.

Got it right at 100 ft/lbs on the nose now. Saw a few recommendations for $5 fixes I'll definitely prep for in the future (shout-out to YouTube's Lowland Country!!).

Thankfully, all done now. Done plenty of rear wheels before with dirt and sport, but a 850lb bagger swap at home was a first.

I gotcha. I use the Ford wrench on the axle head and torque the nut with a socket and torque wrench. I agree with you because I have to remove both mufflers on the Street Glide to do a rear tire change. It's a PITA.

I just raise or lower the bike on the stand, with the rear shocks bottom bolt out, and use an extension with a breaker bar on one side and torque wrench on the other. Its tight but works.

All i ever had to do was lean on the seat and i could get a 36mm socket on the nut. Never removed the mufflers.

Seeing the community step in with tricks reminds me why I should have checked in here beforehand.

Good lesson learned.
