The wheels are going blue. The Kraus Wolf 1 Pro kit is on the way. That replaces the top tripple clamp, risers, and bars, as well as a gauge pod. The bars and gauga pod will go blue too. The wheels are going this same color at the 1k service and the Metzler Cruisetech on then too. I also have the Saddlemen SDC Pro seat at home with blue stitching ready to go.

Here's an example of the blue. It's a base coat clear coat metalic powder. Just as tough as any black part on your bike, but blue.

Took the rear wheel off, pretty uneventful, took me about 20-30 min, once bike was secured on a jack and that’s my first time taking wheel on a Harley. Next mount a new tire.

Congrats on your first HD tire removal. It will definitely be eventful going back on lol. I'm sure some choice words will be exiting your mouth when you're trying to heft up the wheel/tire with one hand and work the axle through the swingarm, spacer, wheel through the other side. One tip is use sections of 2x4 or a small car jack to support the new tire and wheel during installation. The jack works best because you can make adjustments up and down to line up with the bike.

What tire did you choose to go with and are changing both wheel bearings while it's removed?

I’m sure it’d be fun 😀 I was planning to do exactly that - use small car jack to raise it up. Will see how it goes

So I'm just posting this for everyone's knowledge so do with it what you will. After who I consider a friend even though we never met in person and who had a terrible incident recently I decided to inspect all 3 bikes tires. Two of which are still running the stock Dunlops. So far on my 16SGS I have found this on the front tire. The start of a split and some cupping. I'm ordering Metz Cruisetecs today. Still have to inspect the 20RKS. The 04RKC is fine and has a Pirelli Night Dragon on the rear and a Shinko 21 inch on the front.

Ignore the white marking paste. So my SGS has 4,064 original miles on the bike and tires. The front tire mfg date is 3815. This is the start of a split/crack.

This is the start of cupping.

A good reminder to those of us who do our own service that tires inspection shouldn’t be skipped. My rear tire (original) become pretty “squared”, also found multiple cracks, not deep but still.
