What did you do to your bagger today?
I hate how it works/not works with the GTS
Just Another Kick In The *****
Spent a month getting fender repaired and repainted, reinstalling offending dash camera system, chassis blackout, LED conversion, added saddlebag signal lights. Yesterday I get ready to hit the road for a shakedown and end up having it hauled to the shop for a new voltage regulator installation.today. 10-mile mini-cruise in traffic home this afternoon with planned 300miler tomorrow. The 1st 100 miles will be major pucker factor that we caught everything after the tear-down and reassembly.

There comes a time when the aggravation, irritation and anxiety and poor functionality became a safety hazzard. You will have to choose your level and source of risk. You put your safety, and maybe others', at risk on your bike by not upgrading, or putting your own physical, mental and emotional well being in peril at the hands of your wife by upgrading. In some cases, I have heard, deception is the better part of valor. 😎

Purchased my bike 18 months ago with 1230 miles on it. I now have 17k+ and after another 3 hole change last week decided to change the coolant. 30k miles is the suggested interval but it's also 9 year old coolant as far as I know so...... Looked fine but for $20 I feel much better. This has been a great riding Winter so far in NY. At some point we'll get a snowstorm and frigid temps but I'm enjoying it while it lasts.
All squared away. 275 miles yesterday on a beautiful Friday afternoon in the desert . Rode the last 50 miles in shirt sleeves, 69-degF. Ya gotta love it.

meanwhile up here in North Dakota we still have snow all the way up to the ***** on a tall Indian!!
Went over to Harley today looking for rear peg options. The boards on my Limited hit me in the legs when I back up. Ended up leaving with new led turn signals.
Spent the last two days working on my wife's 05 FLHTI. Two issues, the "click of doom" - starter solenoid sometimes not engaging the starter, and lifter rattle on cold startups. The bike has about 90,000 miles on it, motor was built out to 95" at around 20,000 miles to help pulling the side car. Ordered all the parts, S&S lifters and "quickie" pushrods, and a solenoid rebuild kit.
Of course, first the sidecar had to come off to get at everything, not a big deal with the Hannigan sidecar, four bolts, one quick disconnect for the electrics and one for the sidecar brake. Before I took the sidecar off, I built a simple rolling support for the sidecar, just a 2x4 with a couple casters screwed on and a couple U-bolts to attach to the sidecar frame. Worked good, made it easy to roll the sidecar out of the way once it was disconnected. Pulled the starter, found just what I expected, badly pitted contacts in the solenoid. Replaced bad parts with new, put it back in. Seemed strange to cut out the old pushrods with bolt cutters, but that's a whole lot easier than pulling the rocker boxes off. Old lifters out, didn't look too bad, one had a little pitting on the roller, but as far as I could tell, just looking at the cam through the lifter hole, the cam was ok. We'll live with it for now. New lifters in, pushrods adjusted to S&S specs. Fired it up, starter worked, no lifter noise, sounded good. Put the sidecar back on. Short test ride, everything felt OK, will go for a longer ride tomorrow. A couple Aleve, a couple Margareta's and Aspercreame on my aching joints. At 75, I might be better off just paying somebody else to do this crap. If I could find a bike mechanic I could trust to do it right.
