Amazing how much water because our humidity isn't that high, and I almost never ride in any rain. Maybe its in our crappy CA gas that we get the pleasure of paying so much for?
My twin cam always had crud like you described coming out of it. I'm sure this M8 will do the same thing. Any internal combustion engine will produce moisture and vapor and it has to go somewhere. Most car engines use either a PCV valve or an orifice and suck it into the intake manifold, the harleys just vent into the throttle body. At least now it will vent out under the bike and not into the throttle body. I usually wash the breather filter out with solvent when I change the oil.

Nice execution on your breather. A couple of questions about your set up as Im doing something similar. Still in the planning and mock up stage. What size hose are you using? Is the hose routed between the bottom of the cylinder jugs and the push rod rube? Hard to tell from your picture. If so are you running regular hose and are you concerned about the temperature in that area? How thick is the air filter backing plate? Did you have any. Issues drilling it? What did you use to connect the hose on the back side of the filter plate

I think that is the same external breather catch can that i installed on my bike as well - foam inside…works well and think the parts totaled less than $60-$70.00

Mine is an empty canister, with a filter on top for pressure relief. It has a drain at the bottom, but its too small, and the crud clogs it up sometimes. I clean it with every oil change as well, but maybe due to the cooler riding weather, its clogging sooner. Looks like my filter needs to be cleaned this time, and I think it got full quicker as well.

I bought an aftermarket version of that for my sportster, and only half the time it would work correctly. I threw it away and went back to OEM. Hopefully, HD versions are more reliable.

Love the sleek look. Getting the Cap & Gauge kit for my King Special. Won't get it before Christmas as it stands right now but it's something that's been on my wish list for a while now.
