As for my stock (sorta) pipes, I love the quiet, but also love folks knowing I am near them on the road. On my sportster, I tried a lot of different pipes and ended up with modified stock slip ons, with the baffles modded quite a bit, and ended up with a beautiful mellow tone, that opened up nice at higher rpm, but ripped off the line and kept going till just below the limiter at 6200, with the PV tune. May end up just the same way with this Ultra. Not sure just yet if I want to pull the Power Duals back off or not.
Your right Rifle building a motor that big comes with other concerns. For instance a person should have the Timken bearing conversion done to the crank. You could do a Man Of War sprocket in the primary. A Primo clutch etc. I think guys that go that big know what they are getting into and take all the precautions needed. As far as your pipes or mufflers are concerned you have to do what's best for you and what you like. The only thing with modifying stock mufflers is you can't go back once you cut on them. Do you have any concerns being in CA and their CARB laws?

Kinda tight quarters in there. Good job taking advantage of space available. Of course if the bike was facing the camera, its probably a lot roomier.

I need to pull mine off soon, and install my TPMS sensors.
