Thats great to hear! I am going for my first long distance trip first week of May, so I am gathering everything I can think of lol. It’s only 500 miles but it’s a first one for me.
I don’t mind the look at all. In-fact, I kind of like it! It hides behind the fairing nicely from the front. The biggest thing for me considering those were the possible pebbles of rock hitting my finger. Been there done that and it sucked big time.

Congrats on the new scoot and have a safe trip home. Weren't there any bikes closer to the ABQ? I can throw a rock out my front door and hit ten bikes for sale? Maybe it's the adventure and the bike. I get it.

Don't even think of looking for a used dual sport bike, if you do find one, its priced twice, what it was 2 years ago. I sold my sportster after I bought my Ultra (April 2020) for $4100. I could probably get over $6K for it now.
So if he found a deal in ABQ, it was worth the drive. My riding buddy lives in WA state and actually found his replacement bike (2015 Limited) in SoCal. Had a friend and brother look it over and store it at their house, till he flys down in July to ride it home. Its a crazy world now.
For that much money, I might as well get a new one.
Sellers are trying to capitalize on the market trend with new cars and trucks, and the reduced supply and availability. If I were selling, I would want to get the most out of whatever I was selling……
If you are in the market for a new bike, be patient, search local, then nationwide, and be ready to jump on a deal.
