Goes with the territory. Just like working on my house, it's the first time fixing, plumbing etc.....something and at times I screw it up and wonder WTF is wrong with me. On my 3rd house now and still screw things up once in a while but much better at home improvement the 2nd 3rd time around.
The best way to learn sometimes is to screw it up the first time.

Are you ordering the tour pack from HD and then going to paint that? I'd consider ordering their color-matched tour pack or look at what Advanblack has to offer. I wouldn't be good with a large paint project. Don't have the patience for it.

 

Actually, I was going to get a $300 Amazon kit and paint that.
A few folks actually liked this particular one. The other brands seem to fall apart.

I will ride 99% without the tour pack, so I really won't need the proper (expensive) one.

 

I recently bought the razor chopped pack off Amazon. To do a paint job on it too. The part seems like a nice quality unit. I don’t see any issues at all. So far. The only thing I don’t like is I will lose lights and speakers that were on the stock pack. So I will be looking at some saddle bag speaker lids to keep the woman happy. 😂 working on the lights too.

The passing/spot lights are bright enough that you don't really see the amber TS ring.
I'm happy with the results; much brighter than just the passing lights, and the added TS (w/ spots off) is also a plus.

Yesterday, plugged in the Power Vision, flashed the canned tune from Fuel Moto. A lot better but needs some ironing out. Feels more responsive, little more power according to the butt dyno.

 

i bought this version Chopped Tour Pack Pak Trunk W/ Luggage Rack For Harley Davidson King Glide 14-21 | eBay they all seem sort of the same. the thing i liked on this one was the hinges and latch were screwed not rivetted which made it much easier for disassembly when i had it painted. i also bought a mounting plate for the trunk to give it some strength. King Tour Pack Metal Mounting Base Plate For Harley Road King Street Glide 14-21 | eBay the only thing i found with this was that i did not like the way it fit. i actually cut the mounting bolts out, turned the plate upside down, and put them back in. in my view, it worked a lot batter this way

i have had other ebay trunks, based almost solely on price and have not been disappointed. very good value for the money. actually, the chrome on the latch was a little pitted, but i can live with that
