I modified my saddlebag quarter turn fasteners. Added a groove for an

O ring to keep the fasteners from falling into the bags when I take them off.

Welded up the broken pipe and the bag support ears on the fender struts....almost ready for a test fire!

That's a great idea and one which I think I'm going to adopt too. After struggling with ill fitting attachments when putting on new extended saddlebags the weekend, I could have done with this fix. Got there in the end though ...

Sadly, the bike is still in the Harley Hut (shed), but I at least installed my Kahuna Chrome collection stuff this weekend; driver/passenger footboards, brake pedal pad and shift peg, highway pegs, air cleaner insert and heated grips. Now I'm waiting for the Big Brown Parts van to bring my Biketronics Turnkey Rushmore Radio kit (Sony XAV-AX5000) so I can put the bike back together. Thankfully, I get to be TDY this weekend- which figures, since the weather is supposed to be nice enough to be able to ride (and some rain has gotten rid of a lot of the salt residue on the roads).

(And yes, I did adjust the throttle grip so the bar and shield in the middle of the grip is more in-line with the passenger grip after this pic was taken!)

  • Replaced the Hayden M6 chain tensioner with Baker Attitude Adjuster. The M6 had what I would consider standard wear after 15K miles; grooves to the chain rollers. Moved to the Attitude Adjuster to get away from a spring loaded unit.
  • Replaced the stock compensator with the Baker compensator. The stock comp was sounding like a can of marbles.
  • Replaced the stock clutch discs with Barnett carbon fiber extra plate kit, because I was in there anyway. Per Barnett, the carbon fiber is preferred over Kevlar for warmer climates (and stop and go traffic) like Houston.
Definitely need to slide the clutch shell off the shaft a little to get the Attitude Adjuster AND Compensator on. My primary chain didn't have enough slack to install them without doing this. Still easy enough to complete in 3-4 hours, taking your time though.

Ride safe,
Rob

I added Amazon lower fairings. Removed the highway pegs, installed the lowers, and re-installed the highway pegs. One hour and 15 minutes total.

Since to much of the front and lower part of the bike is powder coated, I went with Vivid Black. I like it !!!

Added dresser duals last week then got her down to the dealership to get the clutch recall taken care of. Wasn't too bad, had her home in less than two hours. Now, just need the weather to take a final turn towards warmer and drier! So ready to get back to riding!

Finally the winter mods were completed . Installed stretched saddle bags stretched side covers added
rear fender extension . Also installed saddle bag liners which I think will outlast the saddle bags , those liners are very heavy duty . All these items came from Advanblack . All pieces are very well made and fit perfect and the Twisted Cherry color is a perfect match .
also added passing lamps and engine guard LED’s . The headlight in Harley’s Daymaker Adaptive light .
Rode to work this morning At 2:30 AM and that headlight is amazing.
