Changed Primary and Trans oil.
Switched to Red Line VTwin Primary and Red Line VTwin Transmission fluids.

The shifting seemed much smoother and way easier into Neutral.

One of our dealers was hosting a swap meet today so I loaded up my sons and drove the 60 miles to check it out; seemed like the right thing to do on a winter day. I was hoping to spot a new pulley, but no luck. I did find a new Evo horn cover that I figured I could do something with on my TC, as I really didn't like the huge air horn my bike came with - it had to go. Managed to sneak a Fiamm car horn into the cover then use the old bracket from my air horn to mount the horn and my bottle opener - for emergency situations, of course. Test fit the tank and there's just enough room to make this all work.

Did something similar with the DK. Routed the lines to the bottom of the stock cover, drilled a hole and mounted the filter underneath. Also used a K/N filter.

I didn't want the filter to show. It doesn't look bad on yours but I think my bright blue filter would stand out.
Do you get much oil in your filter?

ODD986, I don't think there will ever be enough pressure on the hose to blow-by oil up and along the backbone. this is why they always exit towards the bottom.

I'll have to keep an eye on it when it finally warms up and dries out enough to ride. I went up after seeing that Kevin from DK Custom's Heritage has the breather bolts going up.

3' of 7/32 vac/washer rubber tubing, 1 k&n 62-1600bl air filter, 1 "T" fitting and 1 3/8-1/4 barbed union.
$28.67 after taxes

I liked the idea of having the hose coming out the top versus the bottom. The hose runs along the back bone to just infront of the battery. I have DK's 2" deluxe tank lift which gave me enough clearance for the hose. There is a grove under the rear tank mount on both sides the right side is in use but I had room on the left side. There might be enough room without the tank lift not sure.

I used two short pieces of the 7/32 hose filled with silicon to fill the holes in the back of the filter.

Air filter reinstalled.

Picture of filter location.

Now to wait for warmer days to see how it works.
I like your idea, but how do you get the oil and water and mist to go up the tube? In addition, I would not put a filter in the the battery compartment. I do not use a filter at all, just run the line down under the frame. These are just my opinions, not trying to sound like an ***.

hbsoldier3 thanks for your in put. Acording to Kevin from DK Customs as long as the bike is run long enough after reaching operating temp, not all short trips there shoulbn't be a problem. I'll still have to check after riding season starts. The filter is in an open space in front of the battery box not actually in with the battery.
