It was difficult to take a drill-bit to the finish

Made an appointment with my local Indy for some work. I think I have a bad wrist pin in the rear jug. Between 1700 - 2700, under load, it sounds like I've got a pneumatic hammer going in the rear jug. Above that rpm and the noise goes away.
He's doing the work for around $400.
I thought it was a broken rocker arm at first but I pulled the rocker box and installed rocker lockers while I was in there and didn't see anything wrong. Torqued everything down to specs according to the manual but the noise is still there.
Got out my handy stethoscope and listened around at idle but only hear a ticking coming from the rear cylinder. It's only under load at those rpm's that I hear it and it's loud.
Anyone else have a suggestion other than wrist pin?

Starred at it sitting in the garage as I pulled the Vette out.....(thankfully can still drive the Vette)
Might be washing the bike and putting it under the cover for a while.
Just got my 2nd diagnosis from a PT and they think I separated my AC joint in my shoulder........
Now it's the waiting game to get all the appointments and referrals to get an MRI.
Yea you do have to drill a 11/64th hole. Its totally covered by the light assembly but for added ease i put gasket sealer on the inside of the fairing hole once i determined the length of wire i wanted. The cable are pretty long, so i set mine to where i could pull the fairing off and set it on my fender until i disconnect it.
I installed a riders adjustable backrest and I ordered the Boyesen Power X intake yesterday. All I can do until it comes though, is to look at it with love. Damn rain hasn’t stopped in at least 5-6 days. Oh, and thanks to PKCOP, I’ve got the urge to go back into my fairing and clean up the wiring.
