Thanks! yeah, I kept seeing little pieces of grass here and there as I was working on it and then today when I took the fairing off...

LOL - No idea how that stuff got in there! I bought this bike used with 1084 miles on it in December from Florida. It still has 1084 miles on it as I haven't been able to ride it yet, other than from the street to my garage from the delivery truck.

The bike was a one-owner, Georgia bike but I think it was a repo. It looks like it was stored in a barn while it wasn't being ridden. The rest of the bike is very clean and previous owner put some nice PM Paramount wheels/rotors (front and rear) on it and exhaust. I've pretty much had the whole thing apart at this point and that was the only part that shocked me when I saw it. Will do fluids too once its all back together and warm enough to get the fluid temps up.

You know how a kid runs and trips and slides on his face and gets a mouth full of dirt. That's what it looks like... your bike tripped and slid on its face and got a mouth full of dirt. LOL... All jokes aside if that's the worst of it, then looks like you got a great deal.

Tore down front end and fairing/bars for Factory 47 Apes and some front end powder coating.

Hope I remember how it all goes back together...
Cleaned out this critter nest from the previous owner.
Now that you evicted the critters, fix that broken fairing before you put it back together. They ain't supposed to turn when you move the handlebars.

Installed some Apes!

14" Factory 47 Assault Bars !

I dig the look!

Barely any room here as the bars fan out to 1.5" at that bend. Overall happy with them. They look good and are comfy. Final button up will occur after I get my forks back from powder coating.

Man, you are coming along quick. Throw some CVO gauges and stereo upgrades in while you have the fairing off.

Thanks! I wish! Now that I have taken the fairing off, completely, doing it later for some stereo upgrades won't be that big a deal. The $ however, that's another story.

Plus, I have some other items ear marked for later this year. Once I get this thing out for a few rides I'll evaluate the stereo and gauges. I've heard others say they don't care for the white gauges but I had an 06 SG and I liked them. We'll see.

Got everything opened up for a 96 to 103 build. Just waiting for gaskets/seals to be delivered as well as heads, pistons and cylinders to be finished at the machine shop.
