Louder pipes?

Louder pipes?
Bought a used street glide with se slip ons. Sounded like stock. Pulled baffles, removed packing and replaced baffles. Still quiet. Removed baffles, cut a large section off, replaced baffles. Not much change.
Question....will going from stock headpipes to something like v&h and using these slip ons change the sound for the louder or should I be scrapping them for a full set of big shot duals?
Thanks for the help
FYI ..... Don't care to hear about too loud and loss of torque arguments.

You can find slip ons that are pretty loud. I'm assuming you bought a used 09 or older without a cat in the headpipe. If not, you won't have much luck getting it louder. That cat is a sound killer for almost everything. If you have an 09 or older rineharts slip ons are decently loud, pretty much most true dual set ups, thunderheaders, CFR's, many others. Big shot duals are loud if that is what you want. Rinehart true duals are pretty loud and sound good too.

All I have to say that I love loud pipes too, but what I can tell ya if you see a no Jakebrake sign when you come into a town the will nail ya just like a semi so I suggest a higher gear to keep the pipes to a minumum. Food for thought cause it happened to me. They are really breaking down on loud bikes.
