Default Installed the Power Duals myself on a 09 FLHRC

and everything fit just like it was supposed to. Only issue I found was the clamp for the chrome cover over the 'Cross-Over' wasn't long enough.

Perfect fit on mine, crossover bracket different than stock, just part of the install.

I installed the Power Duals on my '09 FLHP and they went on with no problems. Maybe you got a set that was packed with the wrong brackets. The fit and finish with the Twin Slash mufflers was very good. However, I do agree that you can keep the stock header on the 2009 models as there was no cat. I didn't know this until I took mine off.

Just installed the V&H Power Duals on my Limited with Jackpot slip ons and everything lines up perfectly. Probably better than the stock pipe. The heat shields are a bit of a PITA to get all lined up but once done they look great and all fit fine. Unless you've got some mismatched or damaged parts everything should fit.

You must have received the wrong mounting brackets because I had no problem installing my V&H Dresser Dual headers on my Ultra and I know 2 guys with V&H Power Duals on 09 Touring models and they had no problem either.
One thing to remember. The tip of your headers should go inside the mufflers and not over. I had to take my CFR slip-ons to a MIDAS shop to have their flange enlarged so that the headers could slip inside. It's a 30 sec job per muffler with the proper equipment.
Hope that helps.

Fitted my set of Power Duals three weeks ago, no problems at all.

Follow the instructions exactly especially when you get to the replacement exhaust bracket, fit loose as instructed to the frame, then align the bracket to the exhaust mount.

An extra pair of hands helps when covering the fitting of the header section.

As to whether you have the correct brackets, you should have received a component list within the package.

I asked for advice before fitting and received some good advice, see post here:

I have the Power Duels and Monster Ovals, but mine is an '07. Mine fits like a glove.

I would make doubly sure you have the correct headpipes for your year and make before going any further.

No problem here. Everything fit like it was supposed to.
Call V&H, maybe you got a set made on a "Bad Day".
This is my 3rd set of V&H pipes and never had a problem.
