Me too, and they are the most uncomfortable boots I have ever owned. A black pair of timberlands suits me just fine.

Sounds like you've had some practice.

Redwings for me, please. Style, comfort, quality, durability and AMERICAN made. Mine are 10+ years old and look and feel great. Just my two cents...

The strap is there in case there is shoe string failure at high speeds.

I like my Harley boots. Bought both pair on line and saved a bundle. Harley boots don't leave marks on the pipes, but my Timberlands will.

Speakin of boots, didnt really need a pair but was at the mall friday (one of my 4 visits there a year) and theres a chain store there called Shoe Dept. Walked in there just to see what they had. I'm tough as I wear 14 ww boots and like brown over black leather. Well man, they had some boots there marked down to 25 bucks and there in front of me was 14ww. Tried them one and great fit. snatched those babies up. Same place about a year or so ago, did the same check there and they actually had some HD brand boots and had one of me size for 49 bucks. Worth a trip there once in a while

I have a set of Milwaukee boots with those straps. Well they HAD those straps. They were a pain in the *** becasue the buckle is just for show..... they actually snap onto the boot. The snaps never hled just right. I cut the straps off at the seam.
Much better...........

They are probably made at the same place in China or Indonesia that makes Walmart boots. Just has the HD name and cost more.
