Default Seat / comfort question

I have a 2008 Ultra with stock seat and the Kury adjustable tour pack bracket installed to move the tour pack back 3" from stock. I ride with the wife most of the time and she is okay especially since I moved the tour pack back.

Problem I have is that I am 6'3" with a 34" inseam. I have trouble getting comfortable on the bike during trips over 150 miles. Hips get stiff and it takes the fun out of riding. I think it is because I sit too low on the bike. I have no trouble reaching the ground, I could likely sit 3 or 4 inches higher and still flat foot it.

I have been looking at seats and have a question on the Road Zepplin..does this seat sit any higher than the stock seat? I see from the catalog description that is is wider, which can't hurt, but is makes no mention on height.

The Tallboy is supposed to move the rider back 2" but no increase in height.

I am wondering if anyone has used the Zepplin and what it does for seat height. Also, if anyone has another good idea, I am open to suggestions.

i have a 31 inseam and i fit well on the stock seat.
put on zep and ended up lowering my UC so it would fit again my guess 1.5 inches higher deflated. also have the pak moved back and my wife loves the seat with extra room if you want some measurements let me know

I'm about your size and have the same problem. If my hips are too low they really start to ache. I tried 5 or 6 different seats, including a custom made Corbin. It was close, but I still couldn't get over 450 miles in one day before it was torture. I ended up getting a Russell Day Long. You send them pics of you and your wife sitting on the bike, and explain how you want it made, and they custom make it. Not cheap, but it really works.

Had the Zeppelin on my Ultra, and yes it raised me up a bit. The adjustments were noticable but struck me as more of a gimmick after a few months. I think you'll get more for the buck with a Tall Boy.
(My final solution was buying a Road Glide 86,000 mles ago. The bike simply fits big/tall riders better IMO.)

The Russell Day Long seat is known as the "butt ugly" seat and it is.

However, I will definitely agree that it was the most comfortable seat I ever owned and I have owned stock seats (never worked), Corbin (liked it), Mustang (didn't work for me) and presently have a C&C (works fine). In my younger days I did a lot of long distance riding. From Spring 1998 to fall 2002 I totaled over 130,000 miles with some 800-900 mile days. Nothing compared to the comfort of the Day Long seat.

I was teased by my riding buddies about how ugly it was and I just told them when I was sitting on it riding I could not see it and couldn't care less because it was so comfortable. Russell will build it up for you for extra height if you tell them what you need.

I now have a C&C because I went for style and looks since the longest days I normally do are 250-325. Did a 450 mile day last April and the C&C worked just fine. If I were doing 25-30,000 miles a year like I used to instead of the 10,000 now I would have another Russell Day Long seat.

This may sound a little crazy, but if the lower half gets stiff and achy, you may want
to look in to a heated seat. Much more expensive but the heat does a body good!
Corbin and Mustang make them and are very comfortable too. Just a thought.

Thanks to everyone who replied. I am leaning towards trying the Road Zepplin. I like the fact that it is wider and will boost me up a couple of inches. Plus it should also be better for my wife as well.
