Default Long or short

Bought some highway pegs, but when I went for the mounging kit, they sell the adjustable hyway peg short offset, and one that says adjustable hyway peg long offset.

What's the difference, which one is used for what reason. I am 5'11" and shrinking but don't know which one to buy.

5'11 you should be good with the short offset. I am 5'8" with a 29" inseam and needed the long offset to be able to reach the pegs comfortably. They are perfect for me and I think the short offset is about 2" shorter.

I am also 5 11 and have the short ones on my ultra - they're perfect. Took some doing to get them where I wanted them.

I see you have an Ultra, I don't think the short ones will work with lowers.

The short ones will actually work with the lowers. I would suggest, if you are unsure which ones to get, that maybe you could sit on a bike or two at the dealership and see which ones you prefer. They may not be in the position you want, but it will give you an idea.

I did this, went to the dealer and tested a few on my bike.
I ended up going with the longer ones on my Road Glide with lowers so that I can have more adjustment.

When you say tested, the dealer lets you put them on the bike just to try them? So buy short, take out to parking lot, put on, decide that they aren't the right size, take back in and exchange??? Will they really do that?

I am 5' 10" and I use the short ones. In this particular setup I can use the floorboard for me heels and put my toes on the pegs which is one more way I can use to adjust foot position.

The parts guy followed me out to my bike and test fit them on it.
I liked how the long ones fit with the fairing lowers. They end up right at the rear edge with them running straight back.
