Seriously? Why waste the time to make a pointless contribution that does not even come close to helping the OP.

I happened to talk to the service manager at my local dealer today and he has not had any '11s come in with that problem yet and they are a pretty high volume dealer.

I use my CB on quite a regular basis, and is a great safety feature when traveling in a group. Regardless, why would you find it neccessary to require an explanation from someone about why they want something working on a new bike that they bought? It's their bike, their money, and their business.

I have around 85K on my 02 Ultra and so far never had a problem with the CB or sound system or setting my trip. I do hope they get it fixed for you and they should. Best of luck and keep us posted.

I love my CB for many reasons. One being it has keep me from getting numerous tickets and for warned about traffic delays so I could take a alliterative route. All so many times been told of obstructions in the road.

Apparently it's a new issue that is just starting to show up on the 11's or so my dealer told me. Maybe if that's the case HD can figure out what they changed.

Just picked up an 11 candy rootbeer Limited on 3/25. CB seems to operate fine.

Sounds like a rather inane response from the stealer, since you just dropped 24K or so on them.

My understanding is that the radio must be flashed to recognize the CB module. Seems like they should have: one, pulled the fairing to check and make sure the module was there and plugged in; and two, reflashed the radio just to see if it recognized the module.

there is an extensive write up on self diagnostics by Harleypingman here
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...on-radios.html

Hope this helps, good luck

Are you kidding? For group rides it's the bomb. When the ol needs a restroom stop you can let anyone with the cb in your group know, fuel stops, food, debris in the road, traffic, the list goes on & on. Communication while riding in a group or outside your riding group. It's a nice feature to have!

I just added the BAMI to my 2010 SG so I could communicate with the others during our chapter rides and I also put a J&M system on my wife's heritage so she and I can know what is up (fuel, potty breaks etc) when we are riding together (riding together for us is me on mine and her on hers!)

CBs are very helpful on the group rides.

I have a 2011 and it seems to work fine. I know you can update your radion via the web but I am not sure how...Maybe you need a firmware update

*Update* Here is the website..... http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US...io-system.html

Unhappy

Same problem on my 2011 Road Glide Ultra. CB worked last fall. This year I tried it and got the Com option not installed. If I pull the maxi fuse for a few minutes and plug it back in the CB works fine. Until the next day when it says it's not installed. Dealer called the mother ship and they said they know there is a problem on some of the 2011 bikes. I updated the software from 8.22 to 8.25 but it still does the same thing. They're supposed to be working on a software upgrade fix it. Better be soon

Don't take this the wrong way but I'm glad to hear that someone else has the same problem. Maybe the mother ship will find a solution quickly.
