RG vs SG vs RK Wind Buffeting from Under The Tank to Chest?
Who could give some thoughts on the differences? I really hate the wind smashing me in the chest thing with my SG.. Anyone have experience and can explain the differences with this in the 3 models?
The adjustable fairing air deflectors can probably solve your problem and get rid of that standard windshield on the SG and get a taller one. They look cool but aren't functional for anything.
I got those, and i just ordered the fork deflectors.. The problem also seems to be when I use my highway pegs, which is often, that the wind still smacks me in the chest.
jj; I can only offer insight on SG & my bike now has 8.5" curved w/s (Klock Werks), fairing wings, fork baffle & vented lower fairings. It took all these to settle buffeting to my liking. I'm sure our fellow RG & RK riders can chime in on their rides w/info...
ok am i the only one that doesnt seem to notice any wind buffeting on my chest?? maybe i just dont feel it or bc i wear a vest for my club i dont notice it, or im just in another world when riding.... this sorta thing always seems to pop up on the forum every couple weeks... i ride a EGC but has a 4.5" smoked w/s and im 6' tall...
I've ridden a few different RKs and never had any buffeting, which I attribute to the windscreen. With the RK windscreen off the air flow is smooth and not an issue. When riding a rented SG the turbulence was so bad I couldn't see. Probably due to my height (6'1") and the low windscreen. Ultra also no issues. That has kept me away from the SG. My CrossBones also has some pretty significant turbulence which I'm interested in seeing if lower bars helps any.

Thx Iceman.. Do you notice any engine over heating problems in warm riding?
Negative...the vented lowers actually help w/airflow to motor. Will know more later in riding season when I get to test the new oil temp gauge, though. So far so good...
