Question Chrome exchange forks

Has anyone done the chrome exchange for forks on Ebay. In particular the 46472-008. I was wondering if there would be an issue with thickness where bolts would be used and where fork springs and anything else had to be inserted. If so was the Chrome good.

Thanks

This has been beat up and down on this forum I did a search as I am deciding the same thing right now. I have come to the conclusion that may as well go with the Harley package. If the other chromers chrome is so nice how well is that going to match up with the rest of the bike? I dont think the thickness will be much of a issue how ever on other bikes they do have problems with fork braces and chrome. I know that first hand LOL LOL >
At the end of the day you may save a buck or two and may even get nicer chrome. But seems like the Harley package is a better way to go. My opinion of course.

The HD kit for $382 from LSHD also includes top cans, axle retainer kit, axle nut covers and plug screws which all add up. Plus I believe HD does a three step chrome and others use 2 step. I think when it comes to HD chrome it is hard to beat and with the 20% off pricing I think it is the better deal. I did mine last month and I feel it is a good deal.

i studied the same issue when i was trying to decide on my fork lower legs. after having owned several used bikes that came with some aftermarket chrome, and seeing how bad it tends to pit and peel, i decided to go with the harley kit. harley's chrome is great. the aftermarket stuff might not be prepared for chroming as well, but i know that harley's chrome has never given me a problem. i highly recommend getting the good harley chrome if you can.

I did the same thing for about 2 weeks, and I ended up with HD, the price for the lowers and bells wasnt that bad, but their polished rotors were very expensive, but they sure look pretty........now, where is that sunshine!

I'm ordering from http://www.willyshiny.com/FORKLEGSTOUR.html

Before I paid the high price HD wants I would get Hot Legs instead.
