Default ABS Light Stays On

Each time I remove my front tire for some reason and then reinstall it, the ABS light stays on. I took my SG to the dealer to fix it the last time. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what needs to be done to fix this issue instead of taking to the dealer again. Thanks

Make sure the sensor is plugged in and clipped into the bracket correctly. Have you tried to ask your dealer what they did to fix the problem last time?

Try disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes then hook it back up and see if that clears the trouble. There is also a fuse for the ABS you might want to check.

Try disconnecting the fuse for a few minutes? Make sure you are real careful with the sensor when you take the axle out & put it back in.

I will admit I looked foolish but I had the same problem and it was I had the tire on backwards. The sensor is on the tan greenish wheel bearing side. The tire tread on the front does not go in the same direction as the back! It looks like a directional tread but the front goes the opposite direction as the rear tire.

1+ on this. I had to replace my fender when I hit a deer and put the wheel on backwards because of the tire tread pattern. ABS light came on and rotors became very hot til I figured it out. Turned the wheel around and the light went out. CAN YOU SAY STUPID?

I think what is stupid is if you look at the tread pattern, on backwards makes more sense. On the rear, the grooves take the water from center out the sides. They turn it around on the front and the pattern pushes the water to the center of the tire. Hydroplane!

Yea its weird alright. Thats Dunlops way of fixing the front tire from cupping, is to reverce the directional arrow on the tire. Go figure.
