Question Paint the inside of the lower....

Who out there has painted the inside of their lowers the same colour as the rest of the bike? Black on black doesn't count. If you have done this, are you happy with the look? How has it stood up so far. I am trying to decide if I should paint the inside the same colour as the rest of the bike, or just stick with basic black on the inside. Whats your thoughts?

Hope someone posts pics of the lower fairing's inner surface color-matched 'cause I've never seen them done that way.

When I did my re-paint project in early '09, I thought about not masking the inner surface, but did and left it black. I'm happy with the contrast between the bike's color (candy apple red sunglo) and the black inner surface of the vented fairing lowers.

I am glad someone is asking about this. I am thinking about doing this as well. Here is a link to Sinister lowers which might be easier to paint.

I need to firgure out what I want to do for speakers in my lowers which will help determine what lowers I go with.

Would to be a lot of work to paint the back of the HD lowers?

Good luck on keeping them looking good. Unless you only wear socks when you ride.

I guess there are some advantages to having smaller feet

Hey FFeric, what do you think about scuffing the inside. I am considering a brighter color and thinking it may take a bit of a beating. My bike isn't a show bike, but still want that little extra to set it apart. Don't think that I have been rubbing my boots in the past, but the inside is black so you might not pick up on a rub mark as quickly.
Are there any close up pics out there?? I too have seen the Sinister bikes, they are killer, but are they daily riders, that could make a lot of difference in keeping the paint looking brand new. Come on guys, there has to be someone out there who has done it. Let us know how it is holding up.
Cheers

I don't think I hit the backs of my lowers that I recall. I wouldnt be too worried. Maybe a bit of extra clear on them?

Has anyone seen the Sinister lowers in person? Would they be practical for a daily rider? They would be totally different.
