I have to replace the factory rear tire on my 2007 Street Glide and I understand some of you are saying the Dunlop D404 150/80-16 Rear fits. This tire is about 1/2 an inch wider than the factory tire; if I am correct. I was just about to order this tire; but, decided to check clearances. When I looked at the plactic drive belt gaurd it was only about 1/8 of an inch from the factory tire. With the 150/80-16 being 1/2 inch wider (1/4 inch on each side) I cannot see how this tire will fit without any problems.
I would still like to go to the 150 tire; however, I am thinking of just ordering the MU85B factory tire again.
Have you given any thought to trying Dunlop E3's? I have an 07 SG and am not at all happy with how quickly the 402 MU85B (rear tires) wear out. I plan on switching over to the E3's when my current 402's need to be replaced.
Thanks jimski. I am thinking about the Elite 3's; however, I was going to do that when the front tire wears out. You are right, the life of the 402 is terrible. I guess I will just have to go for another 402 until the front wears out; then go to the Elite 3's.
Same here. Getting another factory Dunlop put on 2007 SG. Front tire still has plenty of tread so will wait until front is worn out before changing brands due to tracking issues.

A 150 isn't 1/2 inch wider than the stock tire. My MU 85 rear tire on my Streetglede is around 145m.m. 5m.m. is only a little over 3/16". Half of that is not enough to be a clearance problem. People will look at charts and adamantly tell you that an MU is a 140 m.m. tire, they aren't I've measured them. However even if it was 140m.m. which it isn't, it would still be only .393 less than 150m.m. or bearly over 3/8 of an inch difference. Be careful if you go to a 150. Some 150s are load rated less than 130s, 140s, and MU 85s.
Like DGretz said, some have installed the 160 E3 on these bikes and I've heard of no problems. However, by Dunlops specs these tires are for use on 3.5" rims, and the stock rims for '08 and earlier is 3.0". I run the MU90-16 E3 and it is .06" wider and .01" taller than the stock MU85-16.

I've been running an E3 rear and the OEM front Dunlop for the last 16K miles and have had zero tracking issues. My front is now worn out and my E3 rear still has plenty of life left in it. Next week, I'm putting an Avon Venom on the front to give that a try.
I think there's a lot of folks missing out on a great experience fearing a "tracking" issue that quite honestly does not exist.
