Short helmet, cold ears?

With people talking about the cold weather coming and living in the northeast I have found my ears to get real cold sometime in the morning or night. I use a half helmet as do most of my friends. One guy has a Shoei short helmet that has removable ear flaps and never has a problem with cold ears. It is basically zip-in earmuffs. I tried one of these and it works great. It wraps around the back of the neck so it helps keep that warmer also. The helmet straps keep it snug and the earmuffs remove some road noise also.
New design for an old idea.
