My bike is in the shop for 13" cycle smith install. I'm like a kid on Christmas eve.

My stock bars hurt my shoulders, so I solved that problem with Trask Performance Bro Bars. 16" tall & 42" wide. Love em!!

i'm almost sure that harley when they designed the streetglide bars, they decided to figure out what shape of bars would not fit anyone, intentionally. the stock bars are annoying at best. this ensures that their parts and service departments are kept busy with swapping bars, cables, etc. i still have the stock bars on my 08 sg, and i hate them, but i'm sort of fond of keeping money in my wallet. as much of a pain in the butt it'd be to swap out bars, i'd much rather pay a shop to swap them out for me, but i'm a tightwad. the quotes at harley with their 80 bucks an hour rate, is just over the edge.

Then support your local Indy shop. They usually offer much better rates, appreciate your business more (usually), and provide a level of personal service you may not see from the HD dealer. Problem solved.

Kept my stock bars. Don't feel like spending the money for a new set of bars and cables. I rotated my bars forward an inch or two so I have more of a reach. Best and cheapest thing I did.

Bar replacement for me was a must. The stock bars felt too far down and away causing shoulder pain on long rides. Putting Wild1 577s on was like adding power steering to the bike. I ride year round and the wind is not noticable at all. The aerodynamics of the batwing push the air up and away enough that it's not noticiable. The switch housings do block a portion of the mirrors, but for me they're still useable. I would plan on replacing them if you don't like the view from the mirrors.

I want to change them but haven't yet. I want to make sure I get exactly the right ones so I won't have to do it over.
