6.5" speakers in rear speaker pods
After trying a couple of pairs of 5.25" speakers in the rear speaker pods of my 2010 FLHTK and not being satisfied with the sound quality, I decided it was time to find some 6.5" speakers that would fit.
I settled on a pair of Polk Audio DXi6500 component speakers that i picked up for $150. Installation was simple - set them in the speaker pods, drill some holes, and wire them up. They actually seem to fit quite nicely.
The crossovers are in the tourpak and don't take up too much room. I haven't decided on where I'm going to mount the tweeters but I'm leaning toward putting them up front on the fairing somewhere.
While they don't sound as good as the Hertz speakers installed in the fairing, they do seem to fill-in the sound from the rear quite nicely.

I'm using the stock HK radio with an Arc Audio amp. The speakers in the front are Hertz HSK-165 component speakers. All of the speakers are 4 ohm.
