Default A little help here please...Bikeotberfest

Me and the wife are going to Biketoberfest on Wednesday, this is our first trip down.

What are the MUST SEE places when we get there? [sm=feedback.gif]

We'll be down there from Wednesday to Sunday, is this enough time to get in all the adult beverages and scenery?

Couple of must do's

1. There is a seafood resturant on Ponce Inlet, sits on the water. It is across the street from the lighthouse on Ponce Inlet. Always lots of bikers.
2. Trip up A1A north to St. Augustine, oldest town in America.
3. New Harley Dealership off I-95 in Daytona(huge and tons of bikes)
4. Stop by the Mill Top Tavern in St. Augustine, local music, cold beer, great margarita's.

Hope this helps...

Grew up there and only live 80 miles away now.

1. A must see is Bruce Rossmeyer's Destination Daytona Harley shop (I-95 and US-1) in Ormond Beach FL. It is absolutey GIGANTIC. Has it's own hotel, bar and all the big vendors are there.
2. Just east of there on US-1 is The Iron Horse and Boot Hill (north). The Iron Horse has free outdoor concerts and so does Boot Hill
3. Main Street in Dayotna Beach is the famous area that everyone hears about. It's a nice place to visit, but it's a little too crazy with people and the traffic is INSANE!!!!

I spend most of my time at options 1 and 2 during the evening, and take time at option 3 during the day.

The Volusia coutny fairgrounds (Deland) has a biker flea market. I'm hitting that up this year, then traveling back up Route 44 to stop and Pub 44 (New Smyrna) for lunch. BEST hamburger I've had. Also, New Smyrna Harley shop is right next door.

Make sure you ride the Loop. It is an awesome 23 mile ride thru tree covered canopy roads. Here's a link The Loop , here's another link Another link

Hope your trip goes well,
Glenn

Keep your hand on your wallet when you visit destination Daytona.... Figure on paying almost double for anything you get there...

The loop, as indicated, is a great ride. New Smyrna Beach is South of Daytona and makes a nice ride.

We were there for Bike Week in March. My favorite place was The Ironhorse. It is a really neat place. I could have spent all week there.

For the ammount of time you are going, everyone seems to have covered places to go. I would suggest going early, be careful of the cagers and have fun.

Thanks [sm=thanx.gif]...I will check out the places recommended. The wife is a little intimidated when it comes to riding in a HUGE crowd, so I hope to spend some if not most of our time out riding around, I am familar with Pultaka and DeLand area (Go fishing there a lot) might take some rides over there during the day and then go 2 up with the wife to the suggested places for the evenings....

Thanks again for the great suggestions!!![sm=groupwave.gif]

Be careful. Reving loud pipes will get you a ticket. Saw a couple of ladies bare their breast om Main St and went to jail. Be sure you have your insurance card with you while on the bike (required in FL.)

Have Fun
