IPod extender cable options

IPod extender cable options
I got my IPod module on the big brown truck and was wondering my options for extending the intermittent cable to house my IPod in the tour pak. What have others done? I am experienced in wiring and not scared to make cables or cut and extend them. I was wondering if someone knew part number of connectors and such to build my own extension cable.
Idea??

I saw online or in the catalog an extender cable to go to the saddle bag. I would be willing to bet that the way it wraps the inside of the bag, there would be plenty to go to a tourpak instead. You would think after shelling out $400+ for the kit it would come with the long cable! Let me know how it works, I just got the XM kit (bummer its not Sirius, now I have to have an acct with both services) and cant wait to get out and try it, but I also would like to have the iPod for the days that I want to listen to something specific.

Yeah I know the cable you speak of and its an HD cable and cost, your guessed it, another hundred bucks. I am just a tinkerer and would rather build the cable than give HD another hundred for something I should have gotten in the kit.
I have searched on these boards but just haven't seen anybody doing anything but that cable.

I have a 90 degree mini cable coming out if the front AUX port on the radio, running to and into the saddlebag. I have a battery tender type connector running from the ACC connection under the seat into the bag for power. I have a Sirius round antenna mounted on top of the radio (inside fairing) and run to the bag. Sirius radio is mounted inside bag with velcro. Only thing you see is the 90 degree end of the cable coming out of the radio.
I drilled a hole in the saddlebag and used a rubber grommet where the wires pass through.

I broke down and bought the cable after grumbling about it. It's worth the money in the time you'd save even trying to fabricate the cable. Another alternative would be something like this: http://www.sparkfun.com/products/8743
