anyone installed a supplamentary 12 volt power source on a new bike???
i have the supplamentary 12 volt power source(91843-97) that i intend to put on my 2011 road king. the included instructions are not correct for my model. instructions say if cruise equipped to install on right side but the includded template locates the hole in the curve of the cover, obviously not correct, paperwork says updated in 98, so.......anybody done this and if so, where did you mount it?
thanks,
john

I've mounted a couple, one on an '08 EG and on my Limited, but not on the covers.I came off the Deutch acc. plug with a wiring harness going to GPS,Sirius power supply and a power point I stuck in the right side saddle bag guard bag.I came directly off the battery with a powerlet plug mounted on the left side heat deflector for electric gear and plugging a battery tender in.Seems like the inst. said you couldn't mount it in the right side if you have antilock brakes.

A little off subject here, but this makes me wonder if there is anyway to fill some of those empty fuse plugs (holes) in the fuse box. Can you run live wires to them and install fuses? I've never seen any of the little metal inserts you would need to hold the fuse and give it a contact to pass the voltage for sale any where. If you could, the hot wire would need to come from the voltage regulator and not the battery, right? Or does going directly from the battery through a fuse work? After you have the fuse box set up you could run a hot wire to a switch or direct wire something.
