I purchased a new set when I changed my head pipe but when I got it apart the gaskets looked as good as the new set so i left the old ones in.

i just got a pair of exhaust gaskets last week at the harley shop. $7.99, and re using the ones you have would probably work, but it's worth the peace of mind to do anything that prevents you from having to do the work twice if your current gaskets don't seal well.

just talked to a guy on the phone from fuel moto. he said it wasnt really an issue in his experiences. He said if my bike was fairly new and had low miles and if the current stock ones looked good to just leave them in there.

getting ready to install my vance and hines pro pipe today... i'll check what the current gaskets look like. if they look fine, i'll leave em' in. if not, i'll have a new OEM handy.

I reused my oem's when I put on a fuel moto setup about a year ago, no issues. Now I'm putting on Monkey bars, and took the exhaust off to get to clutch cable in the housing. Anyway, I bought the new gaskets for each connection and I mangled the crossover pipe gasket trying to insert it. Now I have to wait until Tuesday to get another, ......anyone have any tips on how to get the crossover pipe gasket in place with out mangling it??

Default Crossover gasket

does the tapered end go in crossover pipe away or towards you?
