I'll try my best to help you out because I have owned both. I currently have the RG and love it. The SG is a good bike and I miss it at times.

The question you really have to ask yourself is: what type of riding will you be doing most? Around town, traveling, 2-up or solo? In my opinion I feel the RG handles better than the SG due to the fact you don't have the extra weight of the fairing on the handlebars. I can turn the RG faster and easier than I could the SG but it may just be me. On the interstate the SG doesn't come close to the ride of the RG. In the end I don't think you will go wrong with either one you choose. Go buy and enjoy!!!

I tried both, found both to be nice bikes, preferred the looks of the street glide and only being 5'8" found the street glide a bit more accommodating for a person of my height. Bought the street glide.

I had a 2008 Road Glide. Nice bike but I felt that the fairing was to far away to give me the wind and cold weather protection I need.
I'm only 5' 10".
Tall guys seem to fit the Road Glide better as it gives them more room.
I went the the Bat Wing this time and I'm very happy with the set up.
As far as looks goes that is up to the individual. Good Luck.

They are both great bikes. I had a 07 FLHT STD & enjoyed it but I didn't feel as good on it as my new bike 2011 FLTRX 103. I'm only 6' tall. IMO this bike out handles the Batwing. That's just my 2 cents. Take a long test ride on both. Good luck

I had the same problem last week, couldn't decide which one. Had the girlfriend pick, and she liked the RG better, so that's what I ended up with.

Thanks for the input. I am leaning towards the Road Glide right now but I am going to try and go test riding this weekend.

Dose anyone know of any problems with either model that should be considered?

Can I disable the ABS (I like to lock up the brakes) since thats the only way to get the Power Pack option?

Yep, what others have already said... Test ride both. I think you'll know which one is for you after that.

Once you have ABS,you will love them. I own a 2010 RG and love it but I think you should go with the street glide so there will not be a RG every corner like the street glides are now..

WHY would you want to do that?
