put lowering blocks on my 2010 egc, have my shocks pumped up to 50 lbs., now when my wife rides with me we bottom out sometimes and the ride is stiff! probably going to take off the blocks, and get my seat shaved & narrowed. just my experience.
I think if these bikes were meant to be 1" lower they would have come that way. I have also heard that the Mustang seat is not any lower than the stock low seat that is coming on the late 10's and all 11's. Ride and handling will definitely change as will the issue with the kick stand being too tall.
a 1 inch drop is not going to lean the bike over to the point of the bike falling. lower it 2 or 3 inches then it changes everything. for the price of these kits i would try it first. unless u have $500.00 bucks for those 940s.
Let us know if the Mustang Low Down is any lower than the new low stock seat.I think I read where someone said the 1 1/2 inch drop is based on comparing it to the stock seat not the low stock seat.
The current OEM seat that is on my 2010 should be the normal thick seat. I heard that some later 2010 / 2011 touring models actually had a drop of 3/4" or so, compared to my 2010. After talking to the Mustang rep he stated that it will drop the 2010 by 1.5" (if you have the standard seat). Nonetheless, I will follow-up after I install the Lowdown. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the seat will do the job; if not then I’m looking at doing the 1” drop.

If you are looking to replace your wiring harness, about $1200, go ahead and use those cheap $50 brackets on your $27,000 bike. If you want to do it right, get progressive shocks or have your original shocks reduced in height, this will only cost you $200 and will be easy to do.
You can also buy a seat that sits lower in the frame.
Try a 2011 street glide seat.
I bought one right here on the forums for 125 bucks.
As I stated in my original post, I have the Mustang "Lowdown" on order. It should give me a 1.5" drop, if that doesn't work for me then I will consider the 1" drop. From the responses it is sort of mixed, so far it seems like the better option is the Progressive 940s...
BTW, How do I respond to "why didn't I get the SG." Well let's see, I found a Limited at a good price, I like the 103", ABS brakes, cruise, heated grips, tour pack, etc... My question is how would buying a bike that I don’t want benefit me? Also, its people like me that purchase all the aftermarket crap that keeps the economy moving.
It's not that they lean over too far it's the fact that the bikes sit too upright after they are lowered as little as 1"
What planet are you on? I've had the lowering blocks I bought from Road6customs on three bagger's now. Ive used them in 1" and 2" positions. No problems with ride comfort, bottoming out or lean position on jiffy stand. I bet I could install the blocks on the OP's bike and except for him being able to put his feet flat on the ground, he would not be able to tell they are on.
