Sorry to hear about it, but glad you both are OK. That's the important part.

I've had a BAL on my last 2 bikes (the 4-LED version is plenty bright), but it won't help if someone isn't looking outside their cage.

I'd get the bike checked out very thoroughly.

And, remember... treble damages. Fixes the scoot and compensates you for the time and aggravation.

 

FWIW. IF you get an attorney, have him find out her cell phone carrier and if her Insur. wants to be a stick in the mud, have him supbonea(SP) the cell phone records and then have the traffic light cameras (if any!!) brought up as well and then start with 7 digit numbers to her insurance and you would be amazed at how fast things get fixed and taken care of!!!!!!
Happened to me on 09-16-08. 17yrd old blabbing on cell pulled out in front of me at 25 ft and I "T" boned her as she was screaming on the cell. When I noticed I was partially under her drivers side of car, could feel exhaust heat on arm, she decides to leave the scene and almost runs over my right arm and head while dragging my bike with her fender!!!!!!!

Similar situation happened to me in May 2006. I was at a stopsign in the left lane of an off-ramp on a curve. i was gettin ready to lane split to the right lane and heard brakes lock up behind me. Before I could scream "Oh ****" the car hit me and the roadking, moved us 10 yrds, ripped my left saddlebag off-impaled in his grill and then he bounced off the guardrail and rear-ended the car in front of me.

Driver was a 17 year old with friends in the car. 3:30pm on a sunny california day. He tried to tell the officer he was doin 30 mph on the off-ramp. The officer said "thats nice, but the off-ramp posted speed is 15mph"...

I ended up having $9k damage to the roadking and i got a steel rod and 3 screws in my left tibia...

Always have everything thoroughly checked out.

 

If it was found that she was on the phone or texting I would get a lawyer take her to the f'ing cleaners.

 

She's just a youngster.

 

Same thing here,,,,making a right turn and stopped for light. Started to move and stop a second time to yeild to traffic. Wham..and I'm on my butt in front of the car with the Left saddle bag next to my left leg and the King about 15 feet away on the left side guards. Bag, fender, backrest, pipes, hitch, ect to the tune of $6K.....I was a little stunned and she was even more supprised than i was.

Three days later, I could hardly get out of bed, Doc said a strained back and get therapy for muscle strain. following Drs orders with exercise for several (10) months. Year later the back specialist says I have three bad discs with one tear and he thinks cortezone injections will be best treatment.

This was in 2008. Today...bike is wonderful, back still sucks....their offer was $4700 to cover injections, week off work, deductable, and pain..............

Court date is in August unless we settle befor then......


Bottom line....you were in an accident,,,,,you MAY have injuries that are not known.....Don't sign ANY release without reading it carefully and GET LEGAL ADVICE BEFORE SIGNING ANYTHING. Give yourself several weeks to see if everything is OK.....You could bend over to pick up a pen and the pain hit.....Get checked out!!!!

Got The quote back its going to be $2300 in parts and labor.
