You may need to place the siren in a location that doesn't allow the sound to be muffled. For example if the sound is blocked by a metal part of the bike it will reduce the volume, as was the case for me on the first try. I had to move mine around a bit for that reason, but now it's loud enough where I don't want to be in the garage with it if it goes off. I've also thought about adding a second alarm and wiring it in series, locating it on the other side of the bike, but I don't think it is necessary.

Did this today, after obtaining a defective smartsiren II on ebay. I was glad that my local RS had it in stock. Got the pins as well, no soldering needed if you crimp it properly. I re-used the cap from the alarm connector and just drilled 2 holes for the pins/wires to go through, cut the top tab then snapped it close.
Must say, I was in the garage and wife was in the kitchen and kept telling me to shut it off...IT was LOUD! Thanks for posting this guys

I did this too, but I am cheap! I used a big paper clip for the post. Soldered the wires to two pieces of the paper clip, put on some heat shrink, bend the paper clip back on the heat-shrink so the pins can't short across and taped wires to plug. They can be untaped and pulled out later if you decide to buy the OEM horn.

Installed this today on my bike works great. Thanks for the information.
My siren is a bit sick on the chirp. a short scratch noise. That's fine though.
Here are a few pics of how I did the install. I used shrink wrap on mine. I wrapped each wire to the connector and then wrapped the whole thing.
I then wrapped the connector and wires in shrink wrap. I zip tied the wires while the shrink wrap was still soft. Then I zip tied the connector.
Then I tucked the connector upside down so water can't migrate down the wires and into the connector.
