Default Clutch Cable Thread Size?

Good Evening Guys.

I decided to replace my clutch cable and noticed the threads where the clutch cable screws in looked a little stripped. It appeared like someone had used red loctite on the old cable.

I'd like to try and re-tap the threads as it appears to only be the the first couple threads that are damaged.

Does anyone know the thread size of the clutch cable?

Thanks in advance!

Checked a spare I have for a'06 touring.Also looks like a 5/16-24.

Place some grease on the tap,it will help collect the junk from the threads.

Thanks 1flhtk4me and Northside. That was it, 5/16-24.

Chased the threads from the inside of the cover out and the cable threaded right in afterwords.

Thanks for the help.
